Wǒ jiā lóu shàng zhù zhe yī jiārén.
A family lives above my home.
他们晚上总是很响。
Tāmen wǎnshang zǒngshì hěn xiǎng.
They are always loud at night.
我听见孩子跑和叫。
Wǒ tīngjiàn háizi pǎo hé jiào.
I can hear a child running and shouting.
有时东西还会掉下来。
Yǒushí dōngxi hái huì diào xiàlái.
Sometimes things fall down too.
我晚上常常睡不好。
Wǒ wǎnshang chángcháng shuì bù hǎo.
I often could not sleep well at night.
一天早上我上楼敲门。
Yī tiān zǎoshang wǒ shàng lóu qiāo mén.
One morning I went up and knocked on the door.
邻居开了门，笑着说对不起。
Línjū kāi le mén, xiào zhe shuō duìbuqǐ.
The neighbor opened the door and said sorry with a smile.
他们说孩子要考试了。
Tāmen shuō háizi yào kǎoshì le.
They said their child had a big test coming.
原来孩子白天要上课。
Yuánlái háizi báitiān yào shàngkè.
So the child had to study during the day.
从那以后晚上安静多了。
Cóng nà yǐhòu wǎnshang ānjìng duō le.
After that it has been much quieter at night.
