In the afternoon my friend and I study at school.
他问我，这个字怎么读？
Tā wèn wǒ, zhège zì zěnme dú?
He asks me, how do you read this character?
我说，这个字读人。
Wǒ shuō, zhège zì dú rén.
I say, this character reads ren.
我问他，今天有什么课？
Wǒ wèn tā, jīntiān yǒu shénme kè?
I ask him, what classes do you have today?
他说，今天有汉语课。
Tā shuō, jīntiān yǒu Hànyǔ kè.
He says, there is a Chinese class today.
我们问了很多问题。
Wǒmen wèn le hěn duō wèntí.
We asked many questions.
我们学了新字，都很高兴。
Wǒmen xué le xīn zì, dōu hěn gāoxìng.
We learned new characters and were both happy.
下课的时候，我们说，明天还来。
Xiàkè de shíhou, wǒmen shuō, míngtiān hái lái.
After class we said we would come again tomorrow.
我回家写了字，给妈妈看。
Wǒ huí jiā xiě le zì, gěi māma kàn.
I went home, wrote the characters, and showed Mom.
妈妈说，你真爱学习。
Māma shuō, nǐ zhēn ài xuéxí.
Mom says, you really love studying.
