Huíqù ná, gēn péngyou yuē hǎo de shíjiān jiù dào le.
If I went back for it, I would miss the time I had set with my friend.
不拿，这一天又怎么过？
Bù ná, zhè yī tiān yòu zěnme guò?
But without it, how would I get through the day?
我想了想，决定不拿了。
Wǒ xiǎng le xiǎng, juédìng bù ná le.
I thought about it and decided not to go back.
坐地铁的时候，我不知道该干什么。

On the subway I did not know what to do with myself.
平时这半个小时，我都是看手机的。

Usually I spent that half hour on my phone.

That day I could only look out of the window and at the people in the car.

A little boy was telling his mom about school.
妈妈听得特别认真，我听得笑了。

His mom listened so carefully that I smiled too.
到了公园门口，朋友已经在那儿了。

When I arrived at the park gate, my friend was already there.

I said, sorry, I did not bring my phone.

My friend laughed and said, am I not standing right here?
那天我们在公园里走了很久。

We walked in the park for a long time that day.
说了好多平时不说的话。
Shuō le hǎoduō píngshí bù shuō dehuà.
We said many things we usually never say.
中午吃饭，我们说好谁都不看手机。
Zhōngwǔ chī fàn, wǒmen shuō hǎo shéi/shuí dōu bù kàn shǒujī.
At lunch we agreed that neither of us would look at a phone.
那一顿饭，我们吃了一个半小时。

That meal lasted an hour and a half.
下午我没有坐车，走路回了家。

In the afternoon I did not take any transport and walked home.

When I got home at night, there were over twenty messages on my phone.
我看了一遍，重要的事一件也没有。

I read them all, and not one of them was urgent.
从那以后，星期天我常常不带手机出门。
Cóng nà yǐhòu, xīngqītiān wǒ chángcháng bù dài shǒujī chūmén.
Since then I often go out without my phone on Sundays.
朋友说我变了。
Péngyou shuō wǒ biàn le.
My friend says I have changed.
我说，是那一天把我找了回来。

I say, that day brought me back.
