On the day I signed up, the coach asked if I was scared.

Wǒ shuō bù pà, qíshí xīnlǐ jǐnzhāng de hěn.
I said no, but in fact I was very nervous.
头一个月，我们只在停车场里练。

In the first month we only practiced in a parking lot.

Liàn zěnme ràng chē zǒu, zěnme ràng chē tíng.
We practiced how to make the car move and how to stop it.

Liàn zěnme zuǒ zhuǎn, zěnme yòu zhuǎn.
We practiced how to turn left and how to turn right.
我的手和脚总是不听我的话。
Wǒ de shǒu hé jiǎo zǒngshì bù tīng wǒ dehuà.
My hands and feet never did what I told them.
教练从来不生气。
Jiàoliàn cónglái bù shēngqì.
The coach never got angry.
他只是一次一次地说，慢一点，看远一点。
Tā zhǐshì yī cì yī cì de shuō, màn yī diǎn, kàn yuǎn yī diǎn.
He just kept saying, slow down and look further ahead.
三个月后，我去参加考试。
Sān gè yuè hòu, wǒ qù cānjiā kǎoshì.
Three months later I took the test.
考试的时候，我太紧张了。
Kǎoshì de shíhou, wǒ tài jǐnzhāng le.
During the test I was too nervous.
停车的时候没有停好。
Tíngchē de shíhou méiyǒu tíng hǎo.
I did not park the car properly.
我没有通过。
Wǒ méiyǒu tōngguò.
I failed.
回家的路上，我什么也不想说。
Huí jiā de lùshang, wǒ shénme yě bù xiǎng shuō.
On the way home I did not want to say anything.
老公说，没关系，再来一次。
Lǎogōng shuō, méi guānxi, zài lái yī cì.
My husband said, it is fine, try again.
从那以后，他天天陪我练车。
Cóng nà yǐhòu, tā tiān tiān péi wǒ liàn chē.
From then on he practiced with me every single day.
我们找了一条安静的路，一次一次地练。
Wǒmen zhǎo le yī tiáo ānjìng de lù, yī cì yī cì de liàn.
We found a quiet road and practiced again and again.
一个月以后，我又去考试了。
Yī gè yuè yǐhòu, wǒ yòu qù kǎoshì le.
A month later I took the test again.
这一次，我告诉自己，慢一点，看远一点。
Zhè yī cì, wǒ gàosu zìjǐ, màn yī diǎn, kàn yuǎn yī diǎn.
This time I told myself, slow down and look further ahead.
我通过了！
Wǒ tōngguò le!
I passed!
拿到驾照那天，我先给教练打了电话。
Ná dào jiàzhào nà tiān, wǒ xiān gěi jiàoliàn dǎ le diànhuà.
The day I got my license, I called the coach first.

Tā shuō, wǒ jiù zhīdào nǐ yídìng kěyǐ.
He said, I knew you could do it.
我在电话里对他说了好多声谢谢。
Wǒ zài diànhuà lǐ duì tā shuō le hǎoduō shēng xièxie.
I thanked him many times on the phone.
现在，每天是我开车送老公上班。
Xiànzài, měi tiān shì wǒ kāichē sòng lǎogōng shàngbān.
Now I am the one who drives my husband to work every day.
他嘴上说我开得太慢。
Tā zuǐ shàng shuō wǒ kāi de tài màn.
He says I drive too slowly.
可是每天早上，他都放心地坐在旁边。
Kěshì měi tiān zǎoshang, tā dōu fàngxīn de zuò zài pángbiān.
But every morning he sits beside me at ease.
