The new home is on the other side of the city.

Dōngxi tài duō, wǒ yī gèrén bān bù le.
There was too much stuff for me to move alone.
我打电话问了几个朋友。
Wǒ dǎ diànhuà wèn le jǐ gè péngyou.
I called a few friends.
只有两个人说那天有空。
Zhǐyǒu liǎng gèrén shuō nà tiān yǒu kōng.
Only two of them said they were free that day.
我心想，两个人要搬到什么时候。
Wǒ xīn xiǎng, liǎng gèrén yào bān dào shénme shíhou.
I thought to myself, how long would it take with only two people.
搬家那天早上，我有点担心。
Bānjiā nà tiān zǎoshang, wǒ yǒu diǎn dānxīn.
On the morning of the move I was a little worried.
早上八点，有人敲门。
Zǎoshang bā diǎn, yǒu rén qiāo mén.
At eight o'clock someone knocked on the door.
门外站着五个人。
Mén wài zhàn zhe wǔ gèrén.
Five people were standing outside.
都是我的朋友。
Dōu shì wǒ de péngyou.
They were all my friends.
他们说，怕东西太多，两个人不够。
Tāmen shuō, pà dōngxi tài duō, liǎng gèrén búgòu.
They said they were afraid two people would not be enough.
重的东西，他们都包了下来。
Chóng de dōngxi, tāmen dōu bāo le xiàlái.
They took charge of all the heavy things.
沙发，冰箱，还有大书架。
Shāfā, bīngxiāng, hái yǒu dà shūjià.
The sofa, the fridge, and the big bookshelf.
最重的书架，是三个人一起抬下楼的。
Zuì chóng de shūjià, shì sān gèrén yìqǐ tái xià lóu de.
The heaviest bookshelf was carried downstairs by three people together.
我说你们拿轻的，他们不听。
Wǒ shuō nǐmen ná qīng de, tāmen bù tīng.
I told them to take the light things, but they would not listen.
下楼梯的时候，有一个人的手破了。
Xià lóutī de shíhou, yǒu yī gèrén de shǒu pò le.
On the stairs, one of them hurt his hand.
他却笑着说，没事没事。
Tā què xiào zhe shuō, méishì méishì.
He just smiled and said, it is nothing.
中午，东西全搬完了。
Zhōngwǔ, dōngxi quán bān wán le.
By noon everything had been moved.
新家里还没有桌子。
Xīn jiā lǐ hái méiyǒu zhuōzi.
There was no table in the new home yet.
椅子也只有两把。
Yǐzi yě zhǐyǒu liǎng bǎ.
There were only two chairs either.
我们六个人坐在地上吃面。
Wǒmen liù gèrén zuò zài de shàng chī miàn.
The six of us sat on the floor eating noodles.
一人一碗，吃得特别香。
Yī rén yī wǎn, chī de tèbié xiāng.
One bowl each, and it tasted wonderful.
大家都说，这是今年吃得最香的一顿饭。
Dàjiā dōu shuō, zhè shì jīnnián chī de zuì xiāng de yī dùn fàn.
Everyone said it was the best meal they had this year.
下午他们走的时候，我说了一路的谢谢。
Xiàwǔ tāmen zǒu de shíhou, wǒ shuō le yílù de xièxie.
When they left in the afternoon, I thanked them all the way out.
他们说，下次我们搬家，你也得来。
Tāmen shuō, xià cì wǒmen bānjiā, nǐ yě de lái.
They said, next time we move, you have to come help too.
晚上，我一个人收拾东西。
Wǎnshang, wǒ yī gèrén shōushi dōngxi.
In the evening I unpacked alone.
地上还有他们留下来的水。
De shàng hái yǒu tāmen liúxia lái de shuǐ.
A few bottles of water they had left were still on the floor.
我忽然觉得，这个城市也是我的家了。
Wǒ hūrán juéde, zhège chéngshì yě shì wǒ de jiā le.
Suddenly I felt this city was my home too.
