After three years of work, I was finally going on a business trip.
和经理一起去上海，谈一个新客户。
Hé jīnglǐ yìqǐ qù shàng hǎi, tán yī gè xīn kèhù.
I would go to Shanghai with my manager to meet a new client.
出发前一天晚上，我没有睡好。
Chūfā qián yī tiān wǎnshang, wǒ méiyǒu shuì hǎo.
The night before leaving, I did not sleep well.
把要带的衣服看了又看。
Bǎ yào dài de yīfu kàn le yòu kàn.
I checked the clothes I was taking again and again.
又检查了三遍行李。
Yòu jiǎnchá le sān biàn xíngli.
And I checked my bags three times.
飞机是早上七点的。
Fēijī shì zǎoshang qī diǎn de.
The flight was at seven in the morning.
我五点就到了机场。
Wǒ wǔ diǎn jiù dào le jīchǎng.
I arrived at the airport at five.
经理看见我说，你来了一个小时了？
Jīnglǐ kànjiàn wǒ shuō, nǐ lái le yī gè xiǎoshí le?
When my manager saw me he said, have you been here for an hour already?
他笑着说，你太紧张了。
Tā xiào zhe shuō, nǐ tài jǐnzhāng le.
He smiled and said, you are too nervous.
到了上海，我们先去酒店放行李。
Dào le shàng hǎi, wǒmen xiān qù jiǔdiàn fàng xíngli.
After arriving in Shanghai we first went to the hotel to drop our bags.
下午两点，我们见到了客户。
Xiàwǔ liǎng diǎn, wǒmen jiàn dào le kèhù.
At two in the afternoon we met the client.
我准备了一晚上的话，全忘了。
Wǒ zhǔnbèi le yī wǎnshang dehuà, quán wàng le.
Everything I had prepared the night before was gone from my head.
我的心跳得特别快。
Wǒ de xīn tiào de tèbié kuài.
My heart was beating especially fast.
客户是个很好的人，一直对我笑。
Kèhù shì gè hěn hǎo de rén, yìzhí duì wǒ xiào.
The client was a kind man and kept smiling at me.
他说，别紧张，我们随便谈谈。
Tā shuō, bié jǐnzhāng, wǒmen suíbiàn tán tán.
He said, relax, let us just have a casual talk.
说也奇怪，听了这句，我就不紧张了。
Shuō yě qíguài, tīng le zhè jù, wǒ jiù bù jǐnzhāng le.
Strangely enough, after that sentence I stopped being nervous.
我们谈了两个小时，很顺利。
Wǒmen tán le liǎng gè xiǎoshí, hěn shùnlì.
We talked for two hours, and it went smoothly.
事情比我们想的要简单。
Shìqing bǐ wǒmen xiǎng de yào jiǎndān.
Things turned out simpler than we had thought.
回酒店的路上，经理说我做得不错。
Huí jiǔdiàn de lùshang, jīnglǐ shuō wǒ zuò de búcuò.
On the way back to the hotel my manager said I had done well.
晚上我一个人吃饭。
Wǎnshang wǒ yī gèrén chī fàn.
In the evening I ate alone.
然后给妈妈打了个电话。
Ránhòu gěi māma dǎ le gè diànhuà.
Then I called my mom.
妈妈问我累不累，吃得好吗。
Māma wèn wǒ lèi bù lèi, chī de hǎo ma.
Mom asked if I was tired and whether I was eating well.
她说，爸爸知道你要出差，跟邻居说了三次。
Tā shuō, bàba zhīdào nǐ yào chūchāi, gēn línjū shuō le sān cì.
She said Dad had told the neighbors three times that I was going on a business trip.
我听了，鼻子有点酸。
Wǒ tīng le, bízi yǒu diǎn suān.
Hearing this, my nose stung a little.
回来的时候，我给爸爸妈妈带了上海的点心。
Huílái de shíhou, wǒ gěi bàba māma dài le shàng hǎi de diǎnxin.
When I came back I brought my parents some Shanghai sweets.
现在我已经出差十几次了。
Xiànzài wǒ yǐjīng chūchāi shí jǐ cì le.
By now I have been on more than ten business trips.
可是每次出发前，我还是睡不好。
Kěshì měi cì chūfā qián, wǒ háishi shuì bù hǎo.
But before every trip I still cannot sleep well.
